For example: When I think and feel depressed, I begin to isolate, I withdraw from others, I become less active, I oversleep, I over eat or undersleep, etcetera… The problem of course is that our responses to our thoughts and feelings, ultimately reinforce and bring about the very thoughts and feelings that originated it.  As if that was not sufficient, your brain then turns on itself again, and punishes you with guilt and shame for the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that have killed your ability to feel joy!  It doesn’t have to be this way any longer, and it won’t be this way once the correct knowledge is internalized.  The moment you know better, you will begin to see things more accurately, which leads you to feel better, and ultimately to doing better.
